This morning she said she had some casinos to visit in OK today and I should go get here some walleye because she had a craving for some smoked walleye.

It was cloudy and the W man said fog and drizzle north of the interstate.  I himmed and hawed around until after 8 waiting to ge a new weather report.  Well it remained cloudy but the fog and drizzle petered out so I had to hook up and go get her dinner.

I worked bluff ends fishing vertically and couldn't get bit at all.  I was going from 27-40' because on the other arm I had been catching specs at 36'.  Finally, I decided to look for shad and found them from 46-55' down.  I started fishing those deep ledges and wound up getting a limit of toothie critters as well as 7 specs and 4 bass.

I stopped off at a friend's house and gave him the specs but I brought some walleye home to smoke for Red.  I hope she is happy with my day's work.   I just hope she doesn't want a load of wood tomorrow.



These aren't today's fish but they will look like these when I get them cleaned.

Steve the Little Sac is 3° warmer than the Big Sac.  I don't know why.  The fish are 10' deeper in the warmer water.  I have no idea what the temp is below the ducer on the tmotor.

Since I was by myself, I had 6 setups rigged.  I fished 10-15 min. then changed.  I spent no more than 20 min on any bluff end.  I prolly caught fish on 3 or 4 of the baits but the best was a 2" pearl tube on a silver 1/4 oz jig head.

I missed and lost several fish.  I was being lazy and was using my #4 crappie heads.  I probably should have been using my regular heads with a #2 hook and my 2" shad buster baits.  I was also using a weedless jighead which we had been using in brush.  That may have been my downfall since I didn't lose a single bait on the ledges but lost prolly 10 fish and missed more than that.

I did catch one 15" KY on a baby shad.  It was right on the bottom in 46 fow.  The shallowest fish was 43' deep.

The spec bite was light but the walleye like to have jerked the rod out of my feeble fingers.  With the forcast, this may be the last trip of the year.
