Sometimes you ought to stay home
« on: March 11, 2009, 07:08:00 PM »
Sat. Sun. Mon. the weather people said rain, lightning, large hail, strong winds, so we stayed home.  We got nice weather in the 70s with fishable winds.  Today those same people said 32°-45° with light breeze.

We got on the water at 7 am and it was 33°. Not bad.  Withing an hour the wind was howling out of the north.  If I had taken the brass monkey, he would have been in trouble. ;)

We stuck with it until almost 1 pm.  We covered spots over 12 miles of upper Bull Shoals.  We caught 5 dinky sandies and lost a small lmb by the boat.

When we loaded up it was 35° with wind chill at 21°.  I could have been money ahead and warm if I had stayed home and tied some jigs. ;D

I know. :(

I was going to get out today....but screw this wind.

I'm going out tomorrow....after she gets home from her Bachelorette party. May not be able to fish after that for about 3-4 weeks.

I told my fishing buddy that if there is another Friday cold front this week he can go without me.  I think I have been twice this year when I have not had to wear a coat.

I mowed the grass again yesterday and it wasn’t really that bad. BUT we have another 4 days of t-storms in the forecast. Only thing on my boat that is getting a workout is the cover!  >:(

The 5 day forcast says rain Thurs, Fri, Sat, then, sunny for a few days.  I have to get the rental finished before Sat because the renters move in then.  On my house the adjuster won't be by for at least another week so there is going to be some fishing in my future next week.

Greetings,
I love Mo. weather grew in that wonderful state and fished Bull Shoals.
If nothing else the view is great.
When I was 50 years younger and knew that being a weatherman was the only profession in the world where they exspect you to be wrong at 75% of the time, I the the degree I would have gone for.
I always look at a national weather map first, then state and then local; bet you'll have a better time fishing then.
