The ice is melting.
« on: January 17, 2010, 12:26:19 PM »
Red and I went down to Stockton lake yesterday and drove all the way around it looking at ramps and launch coves.

We found 2 launches clear with boat trailers on the pkng lot.  We found on where a couple of guys had launched in the ice and broken paths through 2" of ice to clear water.

A guy I know was leaving the last open launch we visited.  He wouldn't talk about numbers but said the crappie were 40' deep (5' shallower than the last time I was there), the walleye 70' deep and the bass non existent.

Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 50's HEATWAVE so I am packing my bags right now.  I just want something wet and slimy on my line. :D
