We are having a very mild winter so far and it is almost Feb.  Tuesday it go up to 63° down on Bull Shoals Lake.  There were only a few other fishermen out and most of them seemed to be fishing for crappie or bass.  We had no competition for our spots at all.  We wound up catching 29 white bass.  Some of those girls look like they could lay eggs any time but the spawn is at least 6 weeks away.

I weighed a few of them and this gal was the best of the day going just over 3 1/2 pounds.  She fell for a clear swimming minnow on a 1/4 head.  Next time out I'll be using my homemade Bull Shoals bucktails.

Yes we put in at Beaver Creek and fish up and down stream.  It is best if the Rock is running a lot of water and we have a bit of wind.  Most people (even locals) don't think these things are around till March or April.

One year we caught 1800 before the first of March and 2800 during March.  When April arrives you can hop from boat to boat they are so thick.  That is when I move on to the green fish 100 mile to the north.
