Tried something different
« on: August 15, 2011, 05:09:16 PM »
My new neighbor has a 4 stroker Yammy on an 18' Skeeter.  I'd been hearing about suspended crappie so I talked him into taking it today and trolling for them.  I hustled to BPS yesterday and picked up $50 worth of bandit 300s and we hit the water at 7 this am.

We wound up catching a bunch of different species: 2 white drum, 1 white bass, 1 spot, 2 lmb, 2 channel cats, 3 walleye (1 was a keeper) and 27 white crappie (20 were keepers).

I'll take that for a first time out.  We might have done better if he understood how points lay and was used to watching his depth finder.  The short of that story is I now have $25 worth of bandits.

I am headed for Colorado to get out of the heat for a week or so and he is supposed to restock my bandits while I am gone.

I hope they will still hit them when we get back and also that what we did was not a fluke. ;D

All i can say is, if that's what it takes to catch fish, then go for it. Fishing is just that sometimes.

Enjoy your trip, JigMan!
