Trout fishing
« on: December 31, 2006, 06:42:19 PM »
Yesterday at around 2 pm, we went fishing on a lake. Was with three other people fishing, and they were catching quite a lot of trout, most of them were steelheads but one of them caught a really big rainbow trout. Anyways, I tried myself...Catched nothing, but got my first nibble so yipee. I soon learned that they were using shrimp, and I was using a peace of chicken. Turns out that they preferred shrimp than chicken, so I only got a nibble. Tomorrow at New year, my parents have no work so we're going back there but with shrimp.

thanks for the advice. Though I do think I'm going to have my first catch, the other fishermen had lots of fish that day.

Yep, corn usually works well. The cheeese I use is the garlic cheese in the tube that you squeeze out. I mold a small amount onto the hooh then dip it in the water to make it more solid. You have to be careful not to cast it too hard it will come off. Good luck today! :)

Just got back...

NOOOO!!!!~ Didn't catch anything. Nobody did, even the other guys that were fishing there. Apparently the fish moved to deeper water since it was raining. Also, when I cast the wind blows it away...Better not fish in bad weather anymore >.< Though something ate my shirmp when we were about to leave...XD.
