The wind was down today so around 1:30 this afternoon I ventured over to city park to wet a line. I was the only one there and the quiet was welcome. Air temp was about 57*, overcast sky, and slight ripple on the water, then calmed to smooth as glass. Started off with my 6'6" rod with a weightless Tiki Stick (Christmas Tree color) rigged and worked that awhile, then switched to the Smoke Shad color, working it different in areas. No takers on that, so switched to my 7' rod and tied-on a Chartruese/White spinner bait. Worked it for quite awhile in different spots up and down the bank. Had to hi-stick my rod just to keep the lure above the tops of the vegetation under the water, which is pretty shallow.
Finally felt a real good bump on the spinner bait, but nothing took it. I'm thinking it was a turtle

. Switched back to the other rod with the soft bait and fished it awhile again. Hands were getting cold and I've gotta say what a difference the handle with the Reel Grip on it made compared to the reel w/o the Grip. Finally it was getting near dark and packed-up and headed home. The forecast for Wednesday is 74* and of course I've have to be at work, but if nothing comes up I plan on going back after work
