You The Man Tournament
« on: August 19, 2006, 08:41:36 AM »
Well tomorrow is You The Man single man tournament on Jordan lake. I hate this lake to no end because of all the dink bass this place holds. They have a 16" size limit on this lake and refuse to take it off. You can load the boat with a ton of 15.5" and under bass but to find a keeper is like finding that needle in a hay stack. Maybe I will get lucky tomorrow and find me one or two keepers so I can hang in there with these guys. Only have two more tournaments for the year in this club then it will be over. I have a long way to go to catch the top weight to become You The Man.

Well folks here is the run down from todays tournament. The bite was tough for many and when you did get hit it was a dink bass. Nothing new there for this lake. We had 11 boats show today with only three catching a keeper to bring in. I was one of them three...Yeeeee Haw only problem was mine tied for 2nd place with Sammy both weighing 2.9 lbs. Junior won it again with 2.14 lbs. That man is one lucky dog on Jordan I tell ya. We have one more tournament left in this club to try and chase Junior and Robin down for 1st & 2nd place in the year standings. and beat the tie for bigfish pot between them as well. Sure glad the last one will be held on the river next month to give me a shot at them.

Well folks tomorrow will be the last You The Man Tournament. Junior has this one about rapped up being so far ahead of the rest of us. I would need a 15lb sack of fish to give him a run for his money. Well be on the river for this last tournament and that place has been off for the last couple months. Lots of dinks being caught and have no idea what has happen to the keepers. I have a game plan in tact and hope it will pay off to at least be in the money for this last tournament. I will let you know how it all ended tomorrow afternoon.

Well folks the River Master won this Last Tournament today. There was no holding River Rat back from whooping up on us. Now you know why he has been named the River Rat King. There was no catching Junior for the title of You The Man in the Year Standings but we sure fished our hearts out trying to. Congrats Rat on winning 1st place & BF and Junior for 2nd place in todays tournament. Congrats to Junior on whooping us in the year standings to take the title of You The Man . We will try out luck with you again next year. Thanks for running these tournaments for us. I had a blast fishing in them.

:)  I made it to city park this morning around 0800.  Lost one and caught one 13" Spot on the Zoom Baby Bass SuperFluke again.  My hooksets with the fluke hasn't been too spectacular.  I'm thinking I might have to go up in size on hooks.  I'm currently using a size 3/0 Gamagatsu EWG right now.

Congrats to Chris for 1st place with 8.5 lbs & BF, Bill for 2nd place with 7.10 lbs. Three boats had 3 keepers, Two boats had one keeper and four boats got skunked. Very windy day out there that made it hard on the ones that went deep. I have learned my lesson and next tournament there I am going shallow with the smart ones so I can bring in a keeper or two.

The four of us was not skunked as we caught fish just no keepers to bring in. This lake has a 16" limit on it.

But do you remember what Derek Remitz said on his win at Lake Amistad?
?I thought I was doing something wrong.?

No one else was fishing deep but him; which shows to go ya that their ain?t no ?right? way.
Some days I?m a hero; some days I?m a zero. I still love it!

They are still calling for rain this AM but I?m heading out anyway. Maybe I should consider the bilge pump also?
