Zeroed again
« on: January 06, 2007, 09:47:10 PM »
Went to city park this morning to try my luck.  Got there about 1030 and spent a couple of hours.  Walked different parts of the bank this time with no luck.  When I got there a fellow in a jon boat was pulling up to the ramp and he stated he hadn't got any bites.  Water was up a bit due to the rain, but still shallow, and real clear.  Worked a small single-blade spinner bait for awhile and also a Mann's -1 crankbait.  It was nice not having to clear weeds off the hooks after every retrieve though.  I even ventured to the "zone" where there's a fence seperating the "regular park" from the golf course.  There's even a sign on the fence that states to not go beyond the sign.  There were a couple of golfers who kept an eye on me pretty close to see if I stepped "over the line", lol.  However, you can stand right at the fence line and cast reeaaalll far over into the section of water that adjoins the golf course  >:D .  Anyway, the wind picked-up, and my hands got cold, so I went home.  Still nice to be casting a line in January!    :)

Man, I feel for you.

Your day reflects in many ways how my outings go, being shorebound myself.

I applaud you though. It can be tough from the shore sometimes and harder when the conditions make an already difficult task even tougher.

And yet, you still chose to go (as I would have). Kudos, bro! ;D

From the looks of the weather report your bank fishing may be coming to a halt. 10 day long range is showing highs in the 30?s later next week.

Glad to hear you got out. Golfers ::)...I remember the hassles I got as a kid sneaking onto golf courses. I still hate the number four :P :D

Yep, I think it's over.  I'm still amazed that I was able to even get out in Dec/Jan.  I think old man winter is finally gonna get us   :(
