Granted, the water is open to everyone, but the way I read it, the locals seemed to be there intentionally to taunt him and not give him any room to fish. Pretty rude on their part the way I see it. As stated above, I would have just moved on to another spot.
Last summer we were at Lake Barkley and fishing close to some riprap and a boat with two fellows in it just came slowly between us and the rocks using their TM. We had our lines out actively fishing, and anchored, but they didn't say hi, by, or anything. Didn't even look at us. They were part of a tourney going on there, but it still doesn't give them the right to do it. Yep, the world is full of rude people, and unfortunately some of them fish. I'm off my soapbox now
