Pro w/boat numbers?
« on: March 17, 2006, 03:41:38 PM »
Something I've been meaning to ask:  I noticed in a televised interview with Denny Brauer and his son that Denny has a number 7 on his boat (& vehicle I believe), and his son has number 3 (as I recall).  Is there some significance that I'm missing?  I don't recall seeing other [fishing] pros with specific #'s on boats/vehicles.   ???

I've never heard of the numbers on them. Or seen one.   But I would love to have a budweiser boat.

The only numbers I have ever seen was just launching numbers on boats in a huge tourney.

GLman,
Didn't mean to cause you extra work to move the post. I thought it belonged here, but wasn't sure.

Found it!  Go to www.brauerbass.com and the opening page has his boat & truck with the 7 on it.  ..... thought i was imagining it for awhile

Bass is requiring them to all have numbers like race cars.
Saw it on Basscenter when they pulled out Bryons wrapped boat.

No problem at all Waterwings.

I guess its time for them all to have number so it will be like nascar.  Someone mentions #8 in a #7 fan tavern and there is a brawl. ::)

Neat rig I like the colors but I bet it gets a little warm in the summer with the dark colors.

Makes sense to do it like NASCAR, that way seeing a large number on a boat would make it more readily identifiable at a distance I guess.  Now all I have to do is to convince KVD to adapt #17 and the DeWalt logo for his rig and it'll be like Matt Kenseth's car  :)

With bass fishings increasing popularity all over it was only a matter of time before they took the next step with numbers. In the next 5 years I can see a bunch of non-fishing sponsors starting to pop-up (home depot, dewault, energizer, lowes, budweiser, etc...).

I see it happening more in the future also.  Budweiser has sponsored a racing boat for quite awhile now, and more sponsors are sure to follow.
