I agree that it's totally rediculous.  imo, it seems that Tim Horton's coffee/doughnut shop, which is a Canadian owned franchise, wouldn't have any say-so about Tim Horton the angler registering his name/products with the United States Patent office.  I've typed-in the word Quantum in my browser looking for fishing gear, and there are numerous companies named Quantum that deal with products that are not fishing related.    :scratch

I wonder how long the place suing him has been around. Also, if he has any ancestors with the same name. And yes, it is a ridiculous lawsuit and a cheap form of advertising.

I found this link to the Canadian "Tim" Horton:  Apparently "Tim" is not his real name:
http://www.freemasonry.bcy.ca/biography/horton_t/horton_t.html

So, it seems to me, how can they sue someone who actually has the birth-given name of Tim?

Also found this:

CHAIN -- Tim Hortons
Owner -- Wendy's International (NYSE: WEN)
Primary Operating Region -- Canada, eh, NE United States
Number of Locations -- 2,755 (2.491 in Canada, 272 in US) (October 2005)

One of those things that makes you go...hmmmmmm   ;)

yeah when I was up in Canada this summer I saw a whole bunch of those stores and jokingly said hey look Tim Horton owns a coffee place.  I guess the Horton franchise is afraid of people thinking he owns the store.  If I lived in Canada I would definately boycott their stores.
Tight Lines and God Bless
