Curado 200E7
« on: August 12, 2010, 07:53:23 PM »
I picked up a couple today at BPS.  Normally the guys at the counter are very knowledgeable but not today.  So I need a little info:

I tried to research the a-rb bearings and couldn't find out much.  Do they need oiled or can they run dry like the Bocas?

In the pack there were 2 extra sets of brake weights.  My eyes can't tell any difference in the size of them.  What gives here?

The bearings require oil. They come lubricated out of the box and should only need periodic maintenance. A simple drop of oil a few times a year is more than enough for reels used in freshwater.

The extra weights are one set of spare pink, which is what your reel had out of the box, and one set of green weights. The green weights are heavier and offer more braking force. These are used in situations wheere you may need more braking than the pink weights can offer. Typically the pink weights will be adequate for 99.9% of the applications you will use.

Thanks man.   They cast a lot better than my old Curados.  I may be doing a little more upgrading as time goes along.
