Loomis SMR913S-SP Bronzeback Rod
« on: December 08, 2009, 12:48:14 PM »
Bantam are you familiar with this rod?

Its 7'7" rod?  I'm looking for a clear lake rod for smallies that will fish a 4" tube at long distances.  This rod will be used in the great lake areas and a few other places. A 7'1 rod just isnt long enough for what I'm using it for.  I'm needing to know if this rod has a good backbone and how it fishes tubes.

SMR913S-SP
Length: 7'7"
Power: 3
Pieces: 1
Spinning
When it comes to fishing small jigs, worms or faux crawdad baits in deep water, there may not be a better choice. It's designed with extra, extra length for drift fishing deep ridge tops and points in big water. Drag a tube with this rod and you'll be in total control. If you need more weight to consistently keep your bait on the bottom, this is the rod you need.

Model      Color      Length      Line Weight      Lure Weight      Action      Power      Handle      Item#      MSRP

7'7"      10 - 17      1/4 - 3/4      Fast      Med-Heavy

Thanks

This rod is a great choice for that. The extra power will be good for the heavier weight when fishing deep water or in high winds. A good friend of mine uses this rod to drop shot with out here in So-Cal. He really likes it.

Another rod you migth want to look at is the Cumara CUS76M. We designed that rod specifically for the deep tube dragging in the great lakes. Its a little lighter rod but it has a ton of power for setting the hook in that deep water with lighter line.

Cool Thanks alot.

I'd be T-rigging most of the tubes.
