Gman,do you have a white/chart. skirt one already made? I have never seen a white/chart. and everytime i throw spinnerbaits or buzzbaits in that color a lot of my hits come on the fall before the retrieve.I know the blades my play a role, but I keep thinking "i wonder if they'd hit a jig like that".

You ever try that color on a jig?

I have tried that color on a swim jig.   Have yet to catch anything on it, but I have not used it very much.

I'll admit i don't use my white jigs much either, seeing that i throw that color in real tight cover i'd probably lose it much easier as i can swim over it with a buzzbait or a spinnerbait.

I have yet to catch anything in 3-4 outing now with any artificials...I've resorted to just going out with a buddy of mine and using live baits and just have fun catching whatever bites for now.

There's one lake i decorated the heck out of one spot filled with G-man's jigs, tubes and sweet beavers down there. ;D I think those fish have a wall collection of lures to "what not to bite".

Sorry I missed the topic

Anyway  right now I dont have any white.  Someone bought it all.  LOL   I know just4fun has some white and chart/white jigs.

throw a topic up and I'm sure he'll answer it.  The jigs looked good.

I'm looking to add a couple swim jigs in the future.

Okay guys, I'm gonna bite the bullet this coming season and use a jig for the very first time.  Now, the first problem is I don't own any, so guess I'm gonna have to buy a couple to start with from GMAN   ;D .

Scott, you've seen where I fish (PeeWee & Earlington), so what type (football, etc) & color skirt jig would you recommend?

Also, I use 8# Yo-Zuri Hybrid on my spinning rigs. Would that make a diffference when using a jig?

Forgot to add:  GMAN, Scott showed me one of your jigs last summer, and I've gotta say excellent work!    8)

PeeWee I would have to go with football due to the lack of weeds and the fact that we have found limited wood cover. Now that they have opened the dam area back up you might be able to hit the rocks? We need to do more work around the “three stump” area.
Earlington would have to be the regular head because of the dense weeds. Your just about limited to vertical fishing there.
Colors? Just about have to stay with black/blue because of the dark water.
I’m planning on sending  Gman a PM to ask him about a couple of different ideas. I will let you know what he says.

P.S. I’m going to get you into baitcasters yet!  ;D

:o .  That's what my wife uses, and after the few times I caused major birds nests (had to cut the line off the spool one time), I'm not allowed to touch her baitcaster, lol.

I'm hoping jigs can be used with spinning gear   :pray     :)

Of course they can be used; we might have to get you one of them there catfish rods from Wally World though! You get a bass hung up in just a little bit of weeds and your carrot stix might get shredded.

If you can't use the baitcasters, use a spincast reel. They still make them everyday and now days they are of some pretty good quality! I have 4-5 of them myself.

I do have a BPS Extreme 7' MH spinning rig that could haul something in, lol, and if that fails I have one of those Wally World big white catfishin' rods with the big spincast reel.    :)

I've been wanting to get a really high quality spincast myself for skipping lures under docks, but dang they cost as much as a good baitcaster!
