Have not fished it yet...next week.

Any comments or knowledge about that particular Skeeter, or Skeeters in general?

She's a beauty...very well taken care of...

I really like Skeeters.

What motor do you have on it?

My son has a 2000 Skeeter with a 175 Yamaha and I can tell you it's the smoothest riding boat out there, and the reason I know is my back is broke in 2 places and I have a herniated disc and I've rode in most all other brands Ranger, Triton, Champion Nitro,Bass Cats, Stratos Etc. My back hurts alot at the end of the day with these boats, but not much with the Skeeter. Sorry for all you Triton owners but Triton has the worst ride, I can hardly stand up and have to be helped to my truck after riding in Triton's.

You just haven't been in the right Champion :)  (mines not the right one though)

Honestly and truly Buzzbaits 21ft Triton is the smoothest riding boat I have ever personally been in, but then again its the only 21fter I have ever been in.

I've been in 2 Champions both over 20 feet still the skeeter is a smoother ride. Maybe me and Buzzbait can pair up this year and then I can compare, cause I can tell you the second I get out of the boat with my back and all. Sometime it's the driver and not the boats. :)

I have 5 friends in addition to myself that are skeeter owners.  All of us love our boats,....and I haven't heard a negative comment about any of them yet, so I think you will be very happy with yours as well !!

I wonder what happened to Firefighter? (if you notice this topic is back from 2005 originally)

I think the Skeeter boats are some of the prettiest around.

Actually, before I decided to buy "used", I was looking seriously at a dual console Skeeter TZX, with the BASSMASTER CLASSIC Package at Airport Marine ;D Both Triton and Skeeter at the time were sponsors of BASS.

The ONLY flaw Skeeters have in my eyes is they're not designed for large people like myself. I was cramped at the wheel and really didn't have the foot room I needed to operate the boat comfortably.

Before purchasing my TR I had the priviledge of fishing from several Tritons. (18' to 21' ers).  I do remeber going home much like F-ren when I fished from the back of the tritions I fished from sometimes. (all of these were older tritions and things may have changed since then, not pozi.) I would be real sore. What I eventually noticed was, (and it had NOTHING to do with my size because you can physically see it) that there is a slight uphill angle on the rear deck of those tritions(mine is the same way) and is mainly your stance that your in back there that causes some of the fatigue. But, that's just the back deck. You can fish in comfort ALL-DAY-LONG from the front deck. I bought the boat mainly for "comfort" and "platform" for my clumsy self over speed , eventhough it has a big motor on it. It does ride pretty good as long as you don't drive it like a maniac!

I once wondered if FF was Carter?  ;D

 George,
I own a 2003 Skeeter TZX 190 with a 150 Yamaha VMAX on the back and a Minn Kota Fortrex 80 on the front. It's my first "real" bass boat, and I could not be happier with it. Skeeter is one of the top 5 bass boat manufacturers if not one of the top 3. It's all a matter of personal preference as far as brands go. Most boats being made today are all great boats, but after doing alot of research, and asking alot of questions I decided on a Skeeter. Your boat is basically Skeeter's entry level boat, but it's still a great boat, and I think you will really love it. They used to go with the SX as the entry, the ZX (or TZX) as the mid level, and the i-class as their high level boat. There is also lots of gret info on the "bass boat central" board/website click here for BBC Skeeter board
I would say the best thing I've done to my boat was to install a recessed trolling motor pedal tray. If your boat doesn't have one you may want to consider installing one. I did a how to on the bbc board complete with pics if you're interested. "my ComforTroll" install link

if I can be of any help drop me a pm, and good luck with your new boat!
Jeff :bass :fish :bass

here's my baby (before I installed the MK Fortrex):
