It's sort of hard to tell about the hook. Is that a 3/8 or smaller head ? I was noticing some similarity between the poison head and the snootie head. I thought they were almost identical but I think the snootie is more elongated and pointed whereas the poison is more snubnosed or chunkier . Is that right ?

I was thinking about getting a wire bender. Janns has one called the tackle tool I think for about $30. Barlows has a different one for about $60. Do you have one or know anything about them ? I should have never started building jigs. There's no end.  :'(

Bass don't eat what they don't see.

Its a 1/2 oz bait.

Getfished.  Yup your right.  The snootie is more of a cone shape and the poison is more of a shad shape

sorry dude.  I've never used a wire bender before.

BTW  I told you so. ;D

it would be real easy to turn this mold into a spinnerbait mold.

Well,  I'll pick you up.  at 10. LOL   Anytime you actually want to fly down I'll take you.  Probably not worth it since your catching big fish up there. LOL

I'll pretty much guarantee you that that fish was my once in a lifetime fish up here. I'll bet that you guys have much bigger down there...LOL

On a side note, that pic doesn't do her any justice, I wish I had a better one, but it is what it is...I can tell you I was pretty jacked to get that one! Back to reality - 2 lbers...LMAO

GETFISHED, I missed this question the other day:

If you are thinking about a wire bender make sure you check the wire rating for the bender. You can probably get away with the one you mentioned, but make sure you get it right for the mold (I'm assuming you're talking about making overhead spinnerbaits here) you're working with. The molds (and GMAN can elaborate on this better than I can) are designed for a specific hook size and line diameter. Some of those wire benders will only go up to a certain point. For instance, to make a buzzbait, the only wire bender Janns has is very expensive (and I will look up that model and will edit it into this post when I find it) b/c the wire used is a lot thicker say a 3/8 spinnerbait wire dia.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say, but what I am really trying to convey is, do your homework. This is def not about price.

I personally use Janns round nose benders. You're making 4 bends at most for a spinnerbait. Works great.  :)
