Crankbait asking again
« on: August 24, 2006, 12:50:09 AM »
Know I have this complusion to start making my own lures.

Been on web site and too make a crankbait, spinnerbait, buzzbait, in line spinner bait, topwater lures, it's a pc. of cake all you need the some green paper to spend, and some time.

Green paper means nothing too me.
Time also means nothing too me, have all the time in the world.

I have been waiting for my second order of lure making materials and have already made a few crankbaits, and some spinnerbaits.

What the hey buying tackle or buying materials to make tackle.

Only difference is I would like to make a lure and have it catch bass, JoeS trailers, and Crossbow sauce they must feel great knowing they have helped produce bass for us bass fisherman, I only want to make lures to produce bass for me.

I'm self fish that way. Would really like to have every lure in my tackle box to be made by me.( Might not caught any bass but if you happen to make a odd ball lure the bass really like you got it made you would be the only one with that type of lure.

Sorry guys if I find that lure I would make some for you all.

It just amazes me what thoughts of different types of lures keep popping into my head, maybe to most they will look nutty but when we first saw the chatter bait we thought it looked nutty.

Know I surf web sites for materials and bass fishing information.
If this computer ever goes down I am in trouble, will have nothing to do at night.

Best of luck to you George! It is one thing to catch a fish but that feeling is sweetened 100 fold if it is caught on a lure you make.

I started out with already made blanks from Stamina and after it was painted and sealed, it really caught bass. It was a terrible paint job, but it worked.

CB it is a sickness  that no doctor can cure.

I started out making bass jigs a long time ago.  Now I make jigs in many different sizes and materials, spoons, spinnerbaits, buzz baits, road runners, and my own plastics poured in the molds which I also make.  I have hundreds of baits which will never see water but I keep making them.  We just got a $200 order from Stamina yesterday.  I may never get all the hooks and bucktails used.

If you haven't already done so, I recommend that you make www.tackleunderground.com a favorite on your computer.  The guys on there are some of the most knowledgeable I have ever seen.  If you get into a situation, there is always someone who can help.

George,

Don't worry if they look nutty, make them and try them anyway. Like you said, we thought the chatterbait looked nutty, too. And then guys started pulling some really big bass on them.
You never know! Good luck to you!

Thursday 9/24//06  3:04 CST UPS just arrived at the door.

Santa Claus has arrived, or the baitmonkey is here with my new found toys to build with.

That was fast shipping two days.

Got to go up stairs and look at the goodie, and the wife is leaving town this weekend with some girl friends to go shopping out of town for three day. Three days of peace, quit, and relaxation, no noise about honey dues.

Well got to go and check out package, I was told there were no B/O lets see.
