I learned something today
« on: January 06, 2010, 11:16:42 AM »
For lack of something to do with snow, cold weather and the flu I decided to make some gizmos for horizontal dipping to make bass tubes.  I used an old aluminum arrow and cut it into 3.75" pieces and decided to epoxy wire handles into the ends.

Well my garage is 40° with no sun and 19° outside.  The epoxy was as pliable as yesterday's cement.  I couldn't get it to mix at all so looking around I spied my micro for melting plastics.  I put the mixture in for 15 seconds and lo and behold it was as pliable as warm honey.  I just hope it sets up and is strong enough to resist the 350° plastisol.
