I like the stick mold GMAN
« on: February 13, 2010, 04:51:59 PM »
I whipped up a color that I have been trying in a different bait.  It looks pretty good as a worm.

I also heated up some left overs and tried some core shots.  They worked but were very inconsistent.

I also tried my hand a laminate pouring.  It worked great, though I was surprised at the end result.  I mixed up 2 drops of yellow with green flake in 2 oz of plastic.  I mixed up 4 drops of green pumpkin with black flake in 4 oz of plastic.  I wound up with an early spring green with a chart. belly.  I never was very good at coloring in grade school. ;)

So, I imagine you'll be doing some "spring cleaning" with those spring green ones. ;D

You know, going a little darker on the pumpkin on the spring green ones you'd just about have what Zoom calls "lemon-pumpkin", which is one of my fav. colors of theirs in the green-brown group of colors.

All of those look good btw.

Buzz I think my problem was using green flake with the yellow.  It made it look more chart.  I'm fixing to do some pumpkin seed with yellow and see how that turns out.

Well I guess you got the mold. ;D

Looking good so far.  Did the injector work better then the hand pour?

Actually it didn't do any better.  It was just a lot faster.  It left a big hollow place and I had to reinject to fill it.  What I have wound up doing is pouring, letting it settle, then injecting to fill any voids.  That is working pretty well so far.

My problem now is I'm gonna have too many worms like my do-nothins.  The last count on them was 27 colors. ::)

All of them so far are nonsalted.  I have to order some softner before I can get into the other stuff. ;)  I'm thinking about getting another 2 tube molds while I'm at it.  The kick is $80 each then another gal of plastic, die, glitter, etc.

Yeah, the green glitter would probably be better off in the darker colors. Then again you might be on to something ;)
