Is this anything like what you were thinking GMAN?
« on: February 14, 2010, 09:14:29 AM »
When the worm settled in the mold, I didn't refill it so the last 2 inches are hollow and should really float high.  I glued a Yammy twin t over the hole.  It will be the tail instead of the head.

I rigged up something like that summer before last on tubes and called it a hula tube.  Red was using one and caught a 6.5# lmb.  Now she thinks all tubes should have a twinT on the front.

I need to make something like that and try it too.  I think it would work really well on a shaky head.or a jig head with a hitch hiker like you made.

Bull Shoals is hotter than a firecracker right now.  It is taking nearly a 5# average to win Ts.  I'm not much of one to chase rainbows but I am heading down there on Thursday.  Jerks and cranks are best but hula grubs have also been working.

I'm taking along some skirted senkos and double rigged jigs to try if I get on fish.  The problem is going to be the lake itself.  A lot of running is involved (at least 40 miles) and it is still pretty cold.

G, Bull is not a trout lake except way down by Mt. Home, AR.  The trout lake is between Bull and the Rock (Taneycomo).

I'll be looking for lmb, spots, smallies, and big eyes.  Mostly jerking and cranking but if I get on them shallow, I'll show them some double trailered swim jigs and that funky senko just to see if they will hit them.

Stockton surface temp is 37-39°.

Bull Shoals gets running water coming from Beaver Lake through Lake Leatherwood, through Table Rock, through Taneycomo and is normally quite a bit warmer.  The last report I had was 45-46° in the upper part.

Last year at this time when BigT and I were whacking big sandies the surface temp was 44° so with the 2° warmer water they ought to be rockin'.  Don't you think? >:D

2 Deg,  eh,  hit that 50 mark and it should be.  Heck hit 60 and you might find me out there in a wetsuit with a spear gun diving off the side of your boat. :o

Sounds like a great tube, jig, jerkbait bite.
