Making a Lathe-less Popper Tutorial Draft by islandbass
« on: March 09, 2008, 04:05:21 AM »
Hey guys! I am trying to put together a tutorial and would like to run it by you for some feedback.  My goal is to make it as clear and as simple as possible so that all can understand it. All thoughts and criticism are welcome. Thanks!

First Draft Below:

Making a Lathe-less Popper Tutorial - Draft

By Alexander Arceo aka islandbass

The purpose of this tutorial is to show you how I make a popper out of wood without the use of a lathe.  It is a low-tech approach, but it works quite well, especially, if you do not have the means to purchase a lathe and the only thing you really need is some elbow grease.

Tools
Safety Goggles
Sanding Block
Hand Drill

Jack,

I was planning to, but know without feedback from folks and your approval. I hope to make it as clear as possible with their input and then I will submit it to you.

It is the first draft and I believe it could be improved, for example perhaps another picture of the plug from square to octagon to round.

I am considering going through completing the plug, but those steps have already been covered quite well at tackle underground so there might not be a need.

Do you think an inline spinner tutorial would be useful? As most of us a primarily bass anglers, we usually don't consider the use of inlines as effective as they can be.

Good job IB! Clean it up a hair and post it!  It appeared to me that there were a few double partial sentences within it, but that's all I saw that needed cleaned up.

you do good work, look foward to reading more of yours in the future.
