Making Spinnerbaits
« on: March 27, 2008, 01:03:26 PM »
Well I ordered a bunch of parts to make some of spinnerbaits yesterday.   Hope I can make something that is worth using!

Anyone else making any?

I've made quite a few over the years. Its easy to do.  The hardest thing to do is bend the wire good enough to hold the swivel in.  Otherwise you will throw the blade.  Use a good ball bearing swivel too.

I'll post up some of them I have made.  Dont let me forget LOL

Jack do you have skirts for these?

Grrrrr!!!!! I just realized I forgot to add the heads to the cart.  Dang it!!!   They were there but apparently I accidentally took them out.

Jack you can remove the possibility of throwing the blade off the end of the wire.  All you have to do is use an additional 1/4" of the end of the wire and make a complete wrap.  That way the split ring can not get away.  I have a headless finish nail in a block of wood.  I wrap the wire around it then bend the end over.

freakin sweet Jack.  I really like the bait.  The size of the bait coordinates with the blades.  And the colors all go well too.  Very nice Jack.

So wheres the spinnerbait making article? ;)

Ive got to get more proficient before I can write an article.

I wish I could find some more of that style head cheap somewhere.  The underside of the head actually has some gill looking things.
