Well,  I've poured some and I've got some kinks to work out.  Running into a bit of an issue with getting the heads out of the mold.  I tried the poisen mold and its not going to work so I'm going to switch over to a football or round head.

Bismuth actually expands as it cools,..so the alloy that you're using is probably shrinking a lot less than lead as it cools,..Try heating the mold up to get them out if they are stuck!

Cool I'll try it.   I'll probably try and pour again tonight again.    The alloy melts real easy.

if that doesnt work I'm going to polish my molds a bit.

I would like to see some pics before paint also.

Would spraying the molds with PAM help?  :D

GMAN This may or may not work for you but, you might have to crack the mold a bit to give it more room.  I have to crack my pt to get the larger hook to allow the pour.  It takes a fold of a nickle wrapper to get the job done on mine.

Thats going to be hard.  I painted them all. ;)

The weights wont be far off from 1/2 and 3/4 of what I poured once painted and I put the weedguard in.  The 3/4 came out to about 350grains which is a about 60gr less then 3/4oz.

Thanks.  I like piddling with this kind of stuff.   Honestly its easier to pour then lead.  Lot less heat too.  Only problem is its harder to get out of the mold on complicated molds.

yes it is.  Hot mold is one of them.

I didnt think I would be able to tell much of a difference between the colors but lead is not near as shiny.
