Some tiny trout spinners
« on: July 17, 2007, 12:42:14 PM »
Here's a few I tied last night with the wifey. I always see these in red and only red. I thought yeah red is great for trout but why not give some other colors a try. The line this is tied with is 10# brekley trilene xt. I can pull the knots tight but they all seem to loosen right back up. I'm tempted to try superglue but I'm afraid that I would be using an aweful lot of superglue. Any ideas on how to tighten the knot without adding the extra cost and step of superglue? Swizzle

I tried a different snell knot on these ones and although it takes longer it holds much better. If I pull to hard and stretch the line or get a kink in the line I have a hard time cutting it back off the hook so I know its a good knot. Out of the first 3 dozen using this snelling method I had to re-tye 2 of them for kinks. When twisting the line around the hook it starts to twist up and when you pull the line through to tighten it down if the twist isn't taken out then it will kink for sure. So far I have these made up in blue, purple, chartruese, red, and glow. I also have a few packs that has 3 differents colors in them in case someone doesn't want to buy 2 or 3 packs to get different colors. These are 00 colorado blades and 4mm beads so they are just small, simple trout spinners. They would probably work excellent on bluegill and perch as well. Well what do you guys think? I have $1.49 on them and the glow ones are $1.59. Do you think I have them priced right?  Swizzle

Now I need tro order some spike it blade dip to dip the hooks in. I'm thinking a nice red would look good on most of them. Swizzle
