Trout Pic I just did for Cardstock
« on: July 27, 2007, 06:30:40 PM »
It's a little off topic but the lures I make go on these 4x8 inch cards and I punch a hole in them to hang them on the wall. This is the first one I've drawn so far. Its mostly pencil but I did add a little crayon and black pen for highlights. This pic will go at the top of the card just below LAPORT'S BAIT SHOP. Tell me what you think. Swizzle

Well I talked to my parents and they said they want me to advertise my lures and not their shop. So I had to create a name for my new business. What do you guys think? I'm printing out 2 on each 8x10 sheet so these still need to be cut in half and a hole punched in them so I can hang them on the wall. Swizzle

I looked around the house for fishing books and the pic of the trout was the best one I could find right off hand. I will be doing a few other drawings in the future. If I could get a really nice pic of a bucketmouth or a smallie I'd be more then happy to try to draw it up. Any of you guys have any decent pics of big bass. I would like to try to get some pics of them in their natural setting in the midst of a jump. I think it helps to make them look a little more 3-d. Swizzle

I think they came out good. I got 100 printed out and ready for the next 100 dozen lures that I tie. I think Swizzle Creek Lures has a nice ring to it. Am I the only one here that makes lures to sell them? I could probably make up some of these for anyone that's interested in them. I'd have to check on shipping. If anyone is interested then let me know. I'm gonna go and try to hunt down a good bass pic now. Swizzle

I'll do my best Crab. I started a largemouth bass pic. Once I finish that I'll try to draw that smallmouth. Thanx for the pic. I'll try to do it justice. Swizzle

well I think the name Swizzle Creek sounds mighty fine
and also for us simple minded folks, a bass pic for bass lure
and trout pic for trout lure, and so on. Whats on the menu for walleye?

I don't have nothing set for the walleye yet. I also wanted to do a northern pike and maybe a muskie as well. I can always take my pics and cut them down a bit in size and add 2 or 3 fish to the same card for lures targeted at multi species. I've seen some lures that work great for bass and pike but trout and walleye turn their noses up at it as well as the other way around. i was gonna work more on the largemouth pic tonight but I'm ready for bed and will have to try to find time to finish it later. Thanx for the positive comments guys. Swizzle
