« on: March 05, 2008, 02:46:19 PM »
top bait is cedar 3.25 inches long, weighes 1oz runs 24+ feet on 14/4 braided line.
Bottom two baits are balsa and will get to 18 feet with out a struggle.

Not plastic, polycarbonate or brand name Lexan.  The circut board lips are 1/32" thick while the polycarbonate is 1/16".  You can get around 2 feet extra depth with the thinner material.  You can shave the front of a polycarbonate lip down to 1/32 or thinner but it's a lot of extra filing and sanding with 800 grit sand paper.  I'm lazy by nature so I don't do that.

How deep will they go with hooks?

Just kidding, I think they are awesome.   Do you sell these?

JackJ, yes sir I do and those baits run deep with or without hooks.  It's a lot easier to release the fish without hooks.

The top bait in this batch is balsa and will kick the bottom in 25 feet of water all day long.  But the little flatsided bait at the bottom of the pic is my fav go to bait this year.

All the depth testing on the deep divers was done with 20/6 power pro line, it makes a big difference in what depth the bait will hit.   The baits that are getting to 25 feet will likely hit 21-22 feet on 10lb mono or fluro.   The draw back to these baits is casting, it takes a little time to learn to cast that big lip.   The big lip gets the bait down deep but can also act like a sail and kill your casting distance.

The round balsa deep divers have a weight shifting system built in like a LC bait.  It with the casting issue by moving some of the weight to the tail and the weight moves back to the belly when the bait hits the water.

GMAN, you don't have any of these just yet.  But you know how to find me ;)

I've never tried it in shallow runner, but I'm sure it can be done.  Bait would have to at least 2.5" long to have enough room.  I have some nice baits and a new finish for that gin clear water ;D

I mailed your box today at lunch, sorry I couldn't get away from work yesterday.
