Which one
« on: January 12, 2009, 02:13:59 PM »
Which one is better or is there a difference Tip up or football jigs with screw-loc? I've been  thinking about getting one of these for shaky heads I have the round head with screw-loc but thinking about one of these so which one would you prefer will be fishing rocks and some brush and trees

I use a lot of tip up jigs but have often questioned whether they really tip up or not.   Whether they do or not they do catch a lot of fish.

Lots of people like the football heads.   I personally have not had as much success with the football as I have with plain round and shakey style fishing is about 90% of what I normally do.

I have the football one.  I like it.  Works great.  Most areas I shaky are rocky.

I just bought some football head style to try this year. I have always used the round head and did fine. But different heads for different situations is probably best.

I’m sure some will question my sanity (some already have!) but I use mushroom jigs with my shaky rigs. I buy them at Wall World; the kind with the wire weed guard.

Nope, don't question the sanity at all, before I got G's screw in  ones I used those. I had a lot of them and they worked good, the screw is just better to me especially when using a smaller worm and getting bit by small fish and setting the hook a lot.

The stainless screw locks are the best.  They hold up and dont tear up plastics like others.

Came a hair of ordering the tip up today but chickened out of it bait monkey lost today but always tomorrow never used the plastic ones do like the stainless but the old style comes lose alot and have to smash around the head to make it stay put I saw today they (do it ) changed the design and made it better so it would stay put and not move around better barlows has the new ones stamina doesn't
