I've got close to $100 in gift cards to use at three different stores. My biggest is a $50 card for Bass Pro, then I one for Dick's and two for Sportsman's Warehouse. I will probably use one of them to get more of the terminal tackle items that get lost or broken off. Then I will buy some more line too. Decisions, decisions ::)

The only thing I am slighlty interesed in as far as a lure is the king shad, but it's not new and it's a little pricey, I do want to get a Diawa Zillion rod for Jiggin' though, they look to be pretty sweet and got great reviews.

I have actually been flipping through the new catalog form BPS all day today and nothing really jumps out at me at all.

Nope...I'm just gonna replenish what i have this year if needed.

I'm going to the Detroit fishing show on the 9th of Jan. just to get out of the house.

I'm saving bottles for some spending money...either tackle at the show or Hooters.....haven't decided which one yet. ;D

I ain't been to hooters in 6 years....

I got my new BPS 2009 Master catalogue today and I already see 3 new colors of bandit 100 series I want and 2 new RC 0.5 colors I want. Not to mention a rod and tackle organizer.

I'm going to play "tackle box" today and organize my stuff. The only major thing I know I need right now for this comng year is a big box of worm hooks but those are definatelly nothing new. Nor is the plastics(BassSnacks) and the few LuckyCraft cranks I've mentioned recently that I'd like to get. I think I'm behind in the game, lol.

O the memories, Grim! Saving (glass)drink bottles for cashola has long since departed from this area of the whurled. That was one of my primary sources of income when I was growing up as a kid until I was probably 16 yrs. old. No telling how many cases of bottles I lugged to the grocery store over those years!  :whew

I dont think I ever knew why they stopped the "returnable" program in these parts, it just did. The only money you can get nowdays for them is through recycling.

Sorry, didn't mean to get side-tracked, hehe!

Rec'd the new catalog also the other day, and nothing new that I need.  The wife and I did venture down to BPS Nashville the other day, and I came home w/o any fishing items.   On the way home I mentioned that I should have looked for some 6/0 ewg hooks, but completely forgot to seek them out.

yeah, not many places do this anymore. Michigan receives .10 for every bottle & can returned. But we have to pay a deposit when we buy.So basically if you don't return them you are out .10 on every can & bottle.Add that up and that's a lot of money over the years. :o

When i was a kid i used to go "garbage dumping" for metal and aluminum cans.  :-[
That's how i was able to afford McDonald's or gas station food when i wanted a snack.

ha, i just"played tackle box" my self. i started a few weeks back. part of the new years res. this year is to narrow down what i buy to only WHAT I USE!!! so, i sold all the stuff i haven't used or havent been catching with and used the $$$ for a nice new tackle box, some baits, and one or two of them worm binders(the goal is also to keep what i do use organized!!!). i'm sure i'll fail miserably at not listening to the bait monkey :)

I used to go scrounging for bottles too. The price seemed to vary at times from two cents a bottle to five cents. But the holy grail of bottles was the quart size beer bottle. They would bring a whole quarter. We would get a wagon load and haul them up to the Stop-N-Go and then we bought candy and snacks with the money.

I have bought quite a few of the H20 Express cranks.  Those are some good looking baits! And the ones I have used in the past have been pretty good and cheap too.

The only bait I want to get is a Jackall Mask.  If they have them at the boat show this year I am going to pick up a few, or if I catch them on sale online.   Unfortunatly no one in town sells Jackall baits.

This one is a possibilty too.  I think they are very hard to find though.

Those sumo frogs look like another version of the Bronzeye frog made by spro.

Isn’t the idea of owning only what you use un-American?
I go through this every year; dump what you haven’t used, keep what works, but by the end of the year I have bags of  “stuff” sitting everywhere!  :shrug

I have been lookin at the Spro BBZ-1 swinbait and the king shad.

Those sumo frogs look like another version of the Bronzeye frog made by spro.

The sumo frogs were out before the spro frogs. They are quality frogs though in some pretty cool colors.

i think $ for $ those are some of the best baits going right now. they're no lucky craft, but you won't be cryin' if you loose one!

I havent found anything that really jumps out at me either.  But I'm still looking.  The only thing I do need is a new frog.  Thats another topic though.
