E21 rods
« on: August 04, 2009, 05:33:55 PM »
I know there's been a few negative vibe going around with Boyd Duckett and E21 splitting up.Found this on another site, regarding the problems. It does look like they are trying to turn the situation around and get those problems fixed.I thought it was a very professional explanation and they are trying to make things right with the owners and buyers of E21 rods.Looks like they are trying to make the "wrongs",righted.I was kinda neutral on ever considering to buy another E21 rod again...I think i could keep giving them another chance after reading that.

CARROT STIX LIFETIME WARRANTY

Carrot Stix rods comes with an Original Owner Lifetime Warranty against defects in workmanship or materials. Element 21 wants to continue instill the confidence to you that we take this warranty very seriously and will always honor this warranty policy.

CARROT STIX RECENT BREAKAGE

Element 21 is aware of the recent breakage of our rods and has not only discovered the reason for the breakage, but also made the necessary corrections in our production cycle to address this problem going forward.  Unfortunately there were several thousand rods shipped to customers before we discovered there was a problem. There is only one option Element 21 can do with the rods already in your stores or the rods your customers have purchased and that is to stand behind the workmanship. If there is a defect in the workmanship Element 21 will replace any and all rods that are defective as a result of manufacturing. Zero questions will be asked on manufactures defective Carrot Stix Rods!

Boyd Duckett

Recently, Element 21 and Boyd Duckett decided to discontinue our partnership. This was a mutually agreed separation and purely a business decision made by both Element 21 and Boyd Duckett. Element 21 has nothing but positive things about our experience with Boyd the last thee years, but both parties decided it was in the best interest to separate at this time. Element 21 thanks Boyd for all that he has done for Carrot Stix and wishes him the best in all his future endeavors.

In summary, I want to personally thank all of you for your support and commitment to Carrot Stix rods. Please do not hesitate to email anytime with your questions or concerns. Element 21 will continue to bring you the best and most technologically sound products the fishing industry has seen to date.

Kindest regards,

Nataliya Hearn

i hear you grimlin, but on the other side of the coin, how else could they have responded. I think it seems to be a fair response and tactfully composed, even with at least one grammatical error.  ;D

Not to be too cynical, since I really don't have any dog in this fight,..but they are trying to stay in business so what else would you expect them to say?

Without knowing anything about the rod or the company,..just from what I've seen here they must be taking a significant financial hit  because of those bum rods and the resultant bad press about them!  Add to that the fact that economic times are tough right now,.. let's just say that  I would be very wary if I was in the market for a new rod!  A lifetime warranty from a company that goes belly up is not going to do you much good! ;)

Good point.

I think it can happen to any rod manufacture going belly up in these times.I guess we'll see what happens and where this goes.

Thanks for posting the article. I have been thinking something was going on with E21 but didn't know what was up. A tackle shop here has dropped the price 40% with a notice that they won't be dealing with warranty claims. Those will have to go through E21. I use the rods and know many others that have them. Nobody has had any problems so it surprises me to hear breakage is that big of an issue.

Me too,Everybody i know likes their E21 rods.

Only problem i have is that hook holder on the spinning rods.My line tend to catch it and wrap around that thing.I just cut the thing off and filed it down a little without touching the rod blank.Problem solved.

No performance problems with mine so far.  I've had the line catch the hook holder on my spinning rod a couple of times also, but I still like the rod.
