Finally set to go
« on: May 10, 2010, 08:04:13 PM »
I got my little jig painting station all set up now. I can go straight from the preheater to the fluid bed and on to the oven for curing, and finally end up on a hanging rack.  I will paint 20 at a time. I went through a dry run so to speak and it seems all is well. I'm sure I'll probably have a bug or two or three to work out but I'm excited to try my hand at building my own jigs. I'm not pouring them. I am only painting and skirting them. This will be a good endeavor in the long run.

Bass don't eat what they don't see.

What type of fluid bed are you using to dip 20 at a time?

Oh I didn't mean it that way. My fluid bed only has 3" paint cups. I only dip one at a time.
It turned out to be somewhat frustrating. I definitely need more practice. I'm not sure the fluid bed even worked properly. The paint cup had a coffee filter in it. I painted football heads with black. About half turned out OK and half didn't. I'll try again in  a couple days with brown.
