Fishing line
« on: January 28, 2007, 09:36:35 PM »
I have had several people tell me they do not like the spiderwire fishing line. ( the braided type).
But I use it on a couple of my reels, and I have not had any problems with it. The way I see it is, If it works for you use it. Any thoughts on this?

I have never tried any. I have always used Stren braid and never had any problems.

Have never tried any of it either.  I'm real partial to Yo-Zuri Hybrid though   :)

if it works for you use it. i used to use spiderwire and its not bad, it just doesnt seem to last very long for me.  i usually go with fireline, its cheap and seems to last a little longer. im thinking of trying one of the higher end braids this year, they just cost so dang much.

Lately the only superline I use is Fireline. I have never had a problem with it. :)

I used to use Spiderwire Steath and it seemed to flatten out after just a little use.

I've never used SW Braid but I have used SW Stealth. It is as solid and performs for me as well as PPro of the same strength (I use 30#) but I have to give the slight edge to PPro because to me, the latter seems "rounder" to me and therefore more appealing.

I'm with Jack. That flatness, while it doesn't seem to affect performance, takes a little getting used to. Other than that Stealth is a solid line.

I've used it and didn't have much problems with it but haven't used it in years I tried several kinds of florocarbon and didn't like it so I just decided to stay with just mono and nothing else I use the excel from BPS no trouble with it I usually leave it on from 6 months to a year but I only fish maybe 2 or 3 times a month but this year is going to be different I'm starting to fish tournaments again and it's going to be changed every 2 to 3 months.
