has anyone heard that shimano bought out gloomis?  :o I heard that from a guy that has shimano as a sponser wasn't for sure

I am not certain, but I mentioned somewhere else I would not be the least surprise at all if the crucial blanks did not have just a wee bit of Loomis influence. That would be great.  :)

Yes it is true that shimano blanks are loomis blanks. That is why I am getting a 7'2 E-Heavy crucial for 160.00 The lure weight is exactly whay i am looking for 3/8 - 1 1/2 and they use im9. So, at the very least, i am getting a gl-2 equivalent.

Hi,
I have a Crucial Crankbait rod. It's very light.
It's too limber for me as a general purpose rod which is
what I thought I was going to use it for. It now sits in the basement.

I don't own a GLoomis so I don't have anything to compare it to.
I have made a few casts with some though and they are very light.
