IMX vs GLX
« on: December 04, 2005, 03:47:11 PM »
What is the difference between the two rods I know GLX is less weight and the top of line of the gloomis series both rods are 6'6" med action fast action lure weight 1/4- 5/8 oz line? 8-14 lb? :-\  I'm wanting to throw crankbaits small ones rattle traps and maybe drop shots to.

Not that I know a lot about gLoomis except from what I have read...

but what your wanting to do with it, I would go with the IMX and save the money.
I wouldnt think you need the higher modulus that the GLX has for cranks or lipless cranks.
I just dont think it would be needed.   Heck a lot of people get away from graphite and use fiberglass
for those applications.

Now for jigs and worming I would think the GLX would be the way to go.

I may be completely wrong so listen to what the other guys say more than me  :idiot

I have an IMX and a GLX. the GLX is lighter and more sensitive, but as Jack stated for those apps. the IMX should be plenty for what your wanting to use it for. Save the extra cash and get a good light reel for it.

Joe I'm puttin an 05 shimano curado super free on it
Jack I thought about the crankbait rod then I thought I would probably use it for other things like dropshot small buzzbaits and wasn't sure about the crankbait rod so I figured the mag rod would work better I like the 7' better but they don't have a mag bass in 7' If I get one it will be on ebay tackle haven where the price is lower I'm also wanting a 7' M/H for jigs, C- rigging and maybe 1/2 oz buzzbaits MBR 843C is the other one I'm wanting
