I used to fish with Lazy Ikes a lot as a kid.   Anyone still use them?

I havent used one in years.  But they did work when I was a kid fishin the creeks.

My Dad had a few in his tacklebox. I used them off and on way back when myself. Now I'm feeling a might nostalgic. :)

Yep, my Dad has some in his box too.  I bet the last time they were wet was around 35+ years ago.

Those Lazy Ikes still catch fish.  They were a great little bait, but technology passed them by.  Every old tackle box I have seen is full of them so they caught lots of fishermen too!  What company made them?

From what I found they were made by Kautzky and possibly Bomber.

Here is more on the lure: The first Lazy Ikes were handcarved by Newel Daniels of Fort Dodge, Iowa. He made each and everyone by hand from 1938 - 1940. Lathe production of the Lazy Ike began in 1945. In 1960 plastic was used in place of wood in production of the bait.
So, if you have some Lazy Ikes in your tacklebox you might want to check them and see what they are made from. If it is wood you know they were made prior to 1960.
To get info on the lure go to www.lurenet.com  :)
