suspending jerkbait that runs 6-8 feet. all I can find is 3-5 or about 10-12. The length I would prefer is about 4 1/2-4 3/4.

The original husky jerk has a 4-8' range if I'm not mistaken.

Get yourself and Husky hj12  4 3/4" I think and use 8-10 lb test, gets down pretty far onm a good cast, I use 88 lb on my spring jerkbaits, I use a really flimsy rod and keep the drag loose, but the fish usually don't fight to hard either in the colds water unless I get me a nice small mouth which I did the one year and I must have ran completely around my boat like 5 times :o
