Lunker Lure
« on: August 03, 2011, 10:43:31 PM »
If their website is current, it appears they have reinstated their anodized blades this year in their buzzbait section. Last year they brought back the  3/8oz. buzzbaits. That told me they had their thinking caps on. Now all they have to do is bring back the color selections that i was using(including the 3/8oz. red/red/red) and tweak the standard 3/8oz. frame into a "Pro-Model" from yesteryear. Then i might be back in business! I will be checking into a few in the near future. Some of the ones i really liked (w/anodized blades) are now once again available.  :ovation

Buzz, I must confess. I have never examined too closely the finer points of a buzzbait. I have been using two different models this year. One is the Boogerman you sent me and the other is made by the Billy Phillips lure company. The latter is a bit more compact and the water displacement is more subtle . Most times I just grab a white one and if it has some chartruese in it that's OK too.  My question is : Can you explain to a loggerhead like me what it means to have an anodized blade?

I saw that Buzz and really need to try em out. I recently switched to a painted white prop with decent results, but I think that a gold anodized prop will be the ticket.

Get, for me, the anodized prop is like a spinnerbait blade. I can not get a fish to bite a nickel spinnerbait blade, but switch to a gold blade and the fish will nail a spinnerbait. For some reason the nickel spinnerbait blade and mill finish aluminum buzzbait prop is emitting too darn much light reflecting off the blade causing he fish to be spooked. My theory of course.

Get, it is a process of dyeing or coating. More or less a matte finish color coating to the blade.  Just another choice really  ;D.
