Marker Buoy
« on: August 04, 2009, 07:04:49 AM »
Need some help here, I fish some night T's and even though my markers say glo buoy, they barely glow at all, need some type of paint or stick on material that won't unstick in the water that I can shine a light on for a few seconds and have it stay half decently lit for atleast 10 minutes per charge. Any Ideas???
I don't want to add those glow sticks just wan't something flat and easy that I won't have to take off.

Sorry, when you said shine a light on it, I was thinking reflectivity.  Common mistake.  ;D

I've got some glow in the dark paint, that you could probably paint them with.  Bought it here..  http://glowinc.com/

Thanks Jack, G trying to avoid using the light to find it, pain in the but every cast trying to find the buoy, so if it glows I won't have to shine the light to look for it, just need to charge it before tossing it overboard.

Well I had someglow in the dark paint from Halloween, I painted oit on there but it was coarse, so I then coated it with clear nail polish, once they took the plunge the materials just started peeling off and it was a mess. Fortunately no more night T's until next year. Didn't see that post above about the lights going to clicky now.

You could try buying some of those small glow sticks and tape them to the bouy before you fish. I think its going to be hard to find anything that glows and will stay on the marker.

After looking back through some of the LED lights and such, The lighted Reel-A-Bouy, the first Linky I posted, looks most promising of the bunch. A hundred twenty hours might get ya through your season, Joe.

El! Strap a flair to it! ;D
