My wife called me a junkie
« on: October 15, 2011, 03:27:18 PM »
It's amazing how much stuff I've accumulated over these years.......5 tackle bags,8 boxes of unused plastics,2 wall racks of nothing but rods and reels and a shelve to hold all kinds of crap littered with spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, scent and plano boxes full of jigs.

I think I have a problem.... ;D

Ha ha funny there Grimlin. I recently had a moving sale and thinned out a bunch.  I still have a bunch and I also have a hunch I'm just in front of starting up some flyfishing in which case I'll need to acquire all the necessary items.  :D

Carter my wife likes to fish with me and she just got a job that she really likes so it's all good on this end. For Now. LOL !

You know she has been asking for a new house...I could turn this into my benefit as well.. ;)

After all I'm gonna need the storage for a new boat someday...LOL

Now you're thinking Grimlin. I'm right in the middle of moving and I'm giving up my 7 acre hobby farm in the country with an old outdated house for a much more comfortable home in the burbs. There is not much grass to mow & it's only 2 miles from the lake. she gets the new house & I  get to fish. Don't know what I did  to deserve this but so far so good.

That's the way to go! 2 miles from the lake is hard to beat.

Our lot is fairly small too,I can have yard work done in a half an hour at the most.

Get, sounds like it wont be too long before you actually wet a worm(or fly)!  I'm sure you're looking foward to learning new water. I know i would be! Ha, especially living that close!  8)

Grim,
When the wife and I were looking for a house she told the real estate agent that we wanted a small place, with a small yard, and a place to park a boat. When we pulled up to the first place she had to show us I didn’t even get out of the truck; My wife walked up to her and said “There’s no place to park a boat”!
We finally bought a place with two bedrooms, a full basement that I can stand up in (at 6’5” that is harder to find than you can imagine) a small yard (less mowing time), a small garage, and a place to park a boat.
Life is good!
P.S. My wife has no idea how much gear I really have because she doesn’t spend that much time in the garage, He He.

Junkie is a really nice term compared to what my wife called me when my boat got Tboned on the way home and I had to empty it to take it to the glass shop.  When I unloaded the 20+ setups, it made no difference when I told here that 7 of them were hers. >:D

I stepped out of the closet a couple of years back and admitted to my wife that I have a fishing problem...our marriage seems to be doing better and I fish and accumulate just as much... ;D
