New Rod
« on: May 27, 2009, 07:02:16 AM »
Hey guys, I need a new rod this year. I have a friend that lives in St. Croix, WI and he can get me any rod from there with a big discount.  I was thinking a Bass Mojo rod.  I don't have 6 setups, I will have 2 if I get this rod and it needs to be versitile.  I need it for jigging/texas rigs/c-rigs/spinnners. I know its alot to pack into one rod but my Medium Diawa Baitcast rod doesn't cut it doing these jobs.  :'(

Any help on what strength I should get, I have it sorted out that Im getting a 7 foot rod, but don't know what power yet.

7' Medium heavy.  That is what I would buy unless your throwing big jigs or trigs.

It will do most of your fishing techniques well.  Especially the jigs, spinnerbaits3/8-1/2 and trigs.  Light crigs will do well also.

Honestly if you can get a big discount I'd look at the next step up in rods.

my friend's dad works in the factory  ::).  I think the Mojo is good because its low end, I have never used a 1 piece and I think that the mojo would be a good start out rod.   what action should I get? I saw there is a fast and ect.

yeah, get a 7' mh fast action casting rod. that length and action is about the most versatile there is for bass fishing.
