Review - Moto Chug - Just for kicks....
« on: August 02, 2006, 08:23:41 PM »
Went down to my neighborhood pond, and noticed my son had a Chuck Woolery Moto Chug, so for fun I thought I would try it out....

This is the gimmick lure that has a string attached and when pulled or popped in the water causes the lure to wag its tail...  http://www.motolures.com/

So I tied it on and second cast , wham!!  A little bass hit it, but I lost it at the bank.   No other strikes but, I do think this lure would actually work well, if I wasnt on such a crappy lake.  Im going to try it again sometime, when I fish a better body of water.

Here are some pics...

Notice the ripples... this is right after I chugged it...

Its hard to tell in the pics but it is a big lure.   I had a lot of fun messing around with it.

You never know what a bass will hit. A lot of people swear by those beer can lures, LOL, and some pros have admitted to throwing them and catching good bass on them. Of course, they modify them from the way they come out of the package.

Update:

I used this lure down at a private pond recently and the bass tore it up!

I have two sets lol!!   one from my Mom and one from Mo-inlaw, QVC ::).
I have two of those and two baby bass that lay sideways and the tail flaps, they actually look good in the water, I haven't caught anything on them but don't see why not, never gave them much of a chance.

Have you never tried them Joe?

If the fish are hitting topwater then I think you will catch some.

Just tug it enough to make the string pull all the way out, and let it sit until it stop wiggling + about 3 more seconds before you tug again.

Yeah I used them once a long time ago, they looked really good, but I couldn't get past the gimmick thought as I didn't catch anything.
I definitely need to give them another shot though.
