Senko Colors

Hey has anyone tried pink senkos? I hear they are killer on bed fish. Wacky or Texas rigged? Any tips on these girly baits would be appreciated.

Girly baits. LOL.

I throw pink trick worms alot in the spring.  The pink IMO is for sight.  It is alot easier to see it when your sight fishing beds or grass.  Basically there isnt much difference between the 2 except sink rate.  They do work very well for me.

To be completely honest about it, I have had more success with the pink trick worm and a pink Zoom lizard, than I have with the pink senko. I cannot explain why, but it is true. I do know it's not because I put more effort in with the trick worm or lizard, cause I have also tried the pink Strike King Zero as well as the pink yammy senko, and still the lizard and trick worm in pink have outdone them for me. But, now that watermelon with red flake senko and zero are real tough to beat!

I used to throw pink slugos religously years ago. They sure worked great.
Now I would only choose that color for site fishing.

Bright colors work great in spring, but so do most colors. Pink has always been an excellent spring color and also works for picks all year long. Anymore, I go to a basic subdued color for most seasons (green pumpkin, Zoom color #54, chartreuse and black flake; pearl and  oxblood the brighter colors.).

I've used bubblegum senko's when fish are bedding or in summer before a good storm when the fish are aggressive.  For bed fishing I now throw a watermelon red/black flake senko with a chartruse tail.  I use a 5/0 hook and cut the senko in half using the half with the chartruse tip.  This way when the bass picks up the bait they have nothing but hook in their mouth.

I have never thrown one,..but I've got a friend that pours his own and the pink ones are one of his favorites to fish.
He only fishes it as a jerkbait though,....with a rapid twitch, twitch, pause.... retrieve that keeps it near the top of the water.   I've seen him land some pretty nice fish with it too! ;)

Watermelon with green and red flake.
black with blue flecks
green pumpkin

Other favorites are that white one with the silver flecks (they actually call it blue something or other..)
and plain black.
