I have been having pretty good luck fishing in submerged weeds throwing a brown/orange 3/8 jig with some type of a brown trailer on it.  I try to keep it above the weeds, or let it settle and then give it a quick pop to get it moving again.

Careful Bankbeater that kind of fishing can be addictive. ;D
Funny but the color you mentioned has not been very effective for me.
Work has really gotten in the way of my fishing lately, but with the kind of weather we have been having I wouldn’t be out long anyway! ::)

That's the main reason I haven't been fishing this summer.  Don't even want to deal with the heat the way it's been.    :o

Yep.  Orange and brown is working in the weeds but no where else.

Bankbeater I know this may sound a bit odd but have you tried anything in green? Like I said it’s a bit odd; throwing green baits into green weeds but it has been really productive.
I’m waiting for it to cool down a bit before I get back out. 105*+ heat index is more than I can handle. I have to work in it but I’ll be darned if I’m gona fish in it!

Well,  I'll be introducing a Poisen head with a round bend hook here soon for swim jiggin.  Should be pretty cool.  First though, I have to get caught up and then modify my mold a bit.

I have been getting some strikes on watermelon and watermelon/red, but most of my jig bass have been on black/blue and orange/brown.

Bob and I caught 16 bass this morning at Pom with 10 keepers.  At least a dozen of them were on chart/white swim jigs.  The others on spinnerbaits but we were missing strikes on the spinners so I switched to the swim jig and only missed one fish.
