Any of you guys do this?

I'm gonna start and need some pointers.

Hook size, hook style, and anything else.

Tried it a couple times awhile back, but didn't stick with it.  I kept pulling-in far too many weeds (more than usual) and gave it up.

I have had success with it, I believe I am using 10 lb yozuri ultra soft, on a 7' m/h spinning rig, with a size 1 octopus hook for open water, I also use a set up on baitcasting when the situation calls for it, with a 3/0 gamakatsu worm hook with a wire weed guard with 15lb line.

I'm using a 6'8" M/h rod with the 1/0 octopus hook and 6# yo-zuri hybrid ultra soft.If you can get some O-rings i would.Specially with senkos....I never get more than one fish with senkos when hooked right on the hook itself.I don't catch enough to brag...senko/stickbaits are not my first choice of bait pick.
Magic lures don't exist.

Are you finding any fish shallow enough to be doing this right now,  G??
When I throw my flickshake rig,..I'm basically fishing it the same as a wacky senko,..so here's my $.02:
-  Try and keep a semi-slack line as much as possible.  What I do is just raise the rod tip high enough to keep a bow in the line,..but not so high that I take all the slack out!
-  I'm just fishing the fall of the bait, using a lift and drop retrieve,...back to the boat!
-  I find that if the fish bite and feel me,..they drop the bait pretty quickly.  If all they get is the slack line, they will hold the bait and swim off with it!   If they drop the bait on a slack line, it's a bluegill and not a bass.  As a result, I am actually feeling the bite only about 10% of the time,....mainly I just see it in the line!
-  I find that I get a much higher hookup ratio using a sweep-set rather than a sharp jerk,..but that may be because I'm using such light tackle with it (6# fluoro and an ML spinning rod).

If you're a fisherman, ya gotta fish!
