Wave Worm "Tiki Sticks" closing!
« on: January 21, 2009, 06:10:32 PM »
Guys, just read at another site that Wavefishing, makers of the Tiki Sticks, is shutting down, apparently due to economics.   The fellow that posted the news said he talked to the owner and it's true.   Better go load up on your favorite color(s).   The Red Shad Laminate is my go-to plastic for the Spots around here.   It was also mentioned that if you call them, they're selling stuff for $2 a bag.  They closed at 5pm central time, but I did send them an email.  Hopefully I'll get reply.   :)

Geese Greg I hope you ordered a ton of them. I’ll buy a half ton from you!
Red Shad is the ticket.

I saw that too.   I would of thought they were doing ok since they were sold in Wal-Marts.

We just got back from Walmart, so I went over to the fishing section to check things out.  I hadn't realized that they've re-done the entire section.   There were only two pegs near the bottom of the shelf dedictaed to Tiki Sticks.  Red Shad and Smoke Shad colors.    They were something like $2.92 a pack (or close to that) so I didn't get any.  Sorta relying on the $2 bags from the company. Guess I'm gonna have to cal them as I didn't receive a reply to my email I sent them.

Also looked for Gammy 6/0 hooks.  No peg devoted to them, with the largest being 5/0.   No soft-side tackle bags on the shelves, and only saw the hard plastic ones.  Maybe they're still re-stocking.   I found all of their Yo-Zuri line on a clearance rack for $9 a spool.  Only weights they had were 12# & 20#.    I did however get a Mann's -1 Chrome/Black for $2 (only color they had on clearance, and I also got an XTool 6.5" floating pliers for $7.

I might go there this weekend. Do you want me to see if they have the 6/0 Gammys?

That would great if you don't mind   :) .  2-3 packs if it's okay, and I'll certainly reimburse you for postage also.    Thanks!   8)

We have a drill competition tomorrow.  Last one for us this year, and thankfully it's at the local county high school.

Thanks   :) .    Luckily the event was inside, and it was the last drill competition for the year.   We didn't place in anything as far as group (platoon catagory), but one of my 9th graders won a individual trophy for his efforts in the "Knockout" (military Simon-Says) drill. Competed against probably 150 kids and came out the winner.   He got to take home a personal 1st Place trophy and a medal.  :)

Oh, the Wave Worm website is completely shut-down now.  Friday night I went to Walmart and bought the last 3 packs of the Red Shad worms at $2.92 a pack.   I've already seen them on other sites and people are asking $5 a pack.  Better stock-up if any of you guys use Tiki Sticks and can find them.

I stopped by walmart the other day....and they had a whole new stock of tiki sticks in.
They were in a silver package though, completely different packaging look than what they usually look like.

I'm beginning to wonder if somebody brought them out now. I emailed them to see if i can find something out.I doubt they'll get back at me though.

Their site is back up and very different looking. http://wavefishing.com/

Does make you wonder if they were bought by some other company, and the site does look different..  Maybe they wormed their way into some of that gov't bailout money (couldn't resist, lol).   ;D

Thanks for the info!   8)

You will like them Grimlin. Red Shad works great for us either t-rigged or wacky. If your water is clear you might want to use something “greener”.
