The only mono I have ever fished is Stren original. I have three bait casting rigs with it on; 2 with 10lb. blue and 1 12lb. green. To be honest I have never found a reason to change from that order.

really no mono for me.  I use braid and fluorocarbon.

Either triple fish or cabelas flouro. and FNS braid.   I will sometimes use copolymer like Pline.

The only time I use mono is when I'm topwater fishing and if floro would float I wouldn't use mono at all.

I think I do have one reel spooled up with some co-polymer line, but all the rest are fluro and braid.

Ditto to what BB said. I only use mono for topwater. Everything else is braid or floro.

I use BPS Excell mono for jerkbaits and a couple of spinning setups.  I couldn't help myself when they offered it for $3.33@ 1500 yds.  I bought 9,000 yds so I have to use it.  Like most have stated, I use braid with a fluro leader on the majority of my setups.

I buy my floro in bulk and I try to respool every so often. If the lines starts to get really kinked I'll just stretch it out and it's good for another month or so. If it starts to change color I'll change it.

I'm using Seaguar Carbon Pro & Trilene 100% Fluoro on almost everything except for the one or two setups with braid that I keep for buzzbaits & frogs!

I change the fluoro once per year when I service my reels over the winter.
I have 20# Carbon Pro on the rods that I use for stripers and I will catch numerous fish in the 10-20lb range during the season.  These fish put a pretty good strain on the line since I keep the drag pretty tight.  To give you some idea,..last season I broke a flipping stick and a swimbait rod (both were Heavy-action) fighting the fish but I've never yet had the line break,...so I am quite certain that the strength holds up with fluoro for at least a year! Just make sure you keep an eye on it and cut off a section once the terminal end starts showing any nicks or cuts!  8)

i know for some things i like to  have that extra stretch in my line especially reaction baits like a uzzbait or spinner and even more so with a rattletrap or heavy crankbait i also use a fast action 7ft medium rod with all my crankbaits im gonna have to look into this flourocarbon

I've found most fluros really stretch nearly as much as mono.

I've found most fluros really stretch nearly as much as mono.

I've seen the numbers too, but what they always measure is the amount the line stretches right before it breaks, however this is way different that the stretch you "feel" as you are just fishing with the line!
I tend to guage it as to how much "give" I feel on a hard hookset with a decent length of line out.  In this kind of evaluation, I have experienced a tremendous difference from one line to the next.  I would also agree that some fluorocarbons "feel" just as stretchy as premium mono's but there are others which are quite a bit better (less stretchy on a hookset)!   That's one reason why i continued to use Seaguar's original Carbon Pro instead of their newer lines which I felt did not give me as solid of a hookset!  Now this lack of stretch, also relates quite a bit to how stiff the line is,...so there is definitely a tradeoff there and the softest/best-handling lines are usually high stretch as well!  So it's really what's most important to you in your style of fishing.   For me it's the stretch,..but for others it's definitely going to be the handling.

For what it's worth,..the best combination of pretty low stretch but still pretty good handling in a fluoro line is Trilene's "Professional Grade 100% Fluorocarbon".   As my bulk spools of Carbon Pro run out,..the Trilene fluoro is what I'm replacing them with!   Just my $.02

I've had a few problems with the Berkley 100% floro breaking ( almost like dryrotting) before it was time to respool.
