I've had a few problems with the Berkley 100% floro breaking ( almost like dryrotting) before it was time to respool.

BBF Are you talking about Trilene fluoro,...or Berkeley Vanish?
There's ton's of folks (me included) that have had problems with Vanish breaking,.....if that's what you were using, then I'm not surprised!!  (Vanish is probably the worst fishing line I've ever tried!)

This is not the vanish it's the new 100% flourocarbon. I don't know why but it seems like after a couple of months it's almost like it's dryrotting. I could understand if I kept my rods in my shop or in my boat but they plus my tackle are stored in my guest bedroom. I now use Viscous Flourocarbon and although it's thick as a choker cable it's dependable.

Wow,..don't think I've had a problem yet, but I'll have to keep a careful eye on it from now on.  Thanks for the heads-up!

You are going to have to explain what dry rotting to me is. Is it like falling apart after sitting for awhile not in use?

I tried Vicious fluorocarbon once and never, never again! That line Literally peeled like a banana after a couple of casts. I've never seen anything like like it.Then i realize how much i paid for this stuff.

It amazes me that so many people have such different experiences with line.

Some folks hate the ones others like the best, and love the ones others like the least.

Maybe the lb test of the lines make the differences, maybe sometimes a bad batch comes out, who knows, but it does always amaze me.

The only one I have seen the masses agree upon is Vanish :)

I have yet to find a line that I can say that I absolutely love.  (But havent tried any of that real expensive kind)
