You need not ask (a parent just knows these things,

All kidding aside, The original post stems from the fact that if a child gives you a fishing lure you ought not reject it....fish it as soon as possible instead of receiving it with the general Thank You, tossing it into the bottom of your box or bag and never looking at it twice! No matter what it is, use it asap. There's just something about it!

I wrote a little story about this on a different site a long time ago., it was called "The Gift". It was of course about a personal experience.

Don't ask me to post it here because I would have to post the original for it to really mean anything to me or you, and on top of that, I no longer have it or have access to it, so ......go fish!

Eventhough the water temp is probably 40*f or colder right now, If I get to go sat. I'll throw it around some stuff to see how it works. Gonna try it undoctored the first trip or three.

Buzz, I just saw this thread and it reminded me of a bait I tied on and cut the wrong line and then thew it overboard so it wouldn't get tangled up while I finished up another task. I never saw that bait again and neither was I able to ever locate another one. It was a goodun.
